May a muddobber fly up your nose. Well maybe I should not have written that since I would not move to the left coast just to get my G&D a few days earlier. Congratulations you get what you deserve, mold, fungus, moss or [bleeped] vines growing on everything that does not move and the G&D before the rest of us.

Hey Joe,

Glad to hear you got your G and D today. The thrill for me is mine came today also!! Around 1030am. I sure hope I'm back on my regular schedule (around the First of the Month) after being 7 - 10 days "late" in December and January.

Of course there wasn't a '42 convertible for sale in this issue, so not such a big deal anyways.

The 66 Roadster on the front cover sure is nice eye candy.

Bill.

Hallo Kipper,
I am VCCA-Member since Dec.2005. So i can expect
to get my first G&D in March 2006 or even later?
But i have a good fellow in the Netherlands. He got his issue on 17th of Jan. and was so kind to send it to me. So i am since wednesday this week
the proud owner of my first ever seen G&D. I enjoy reading it like a good bottle of old red Californien Cabernet Savignon.
Is there anyone who could explain to me why it takes so awfully long to send it to old Europe?

Slow boats...if it were possible to send via air it would take only a few days at the most. But air is very expensive for anything larger than a letter. Also would require a completely different mailing process on this side.

Don't know but the thought occurred to me that the difference in delivery time might be based on your Zip code; does the VCCA use a 9 digit code on everyone's address (USA) or do they use the 5 digit on some?

If they only have your 5 digit code maybe adding the other 4 digits will speed up your delivery.

Don't know, just a thought; maybe the VCCA puts the 9 code on everyone's copy already. If so the mystery continues.

louis,

really not that big a mystery...do a search, as I've instigated a number of discussions regarding the timely delivery of the g&d...there are some pretty knowledgeably people here...

Hell Feb is almost gone and i still haven't recieved my G&D. It won't be the 1st time i didn't get my G&D at all. I'm on the verg of leaving the vcca because of it. Not everyone in the vcca has a computer so they rely on getting their G&D each month in a timely fasion to find the parts they need or articles on how to. If they don't recieve theirs, they are missing out. Ive called and left emails about my matter and nothing seems to get done.

Also, I took the email that I received TODAY from hrndog19688 and I forwarded it to the Membership Secretary and the G&D Editor.

I can tell you that I am almost always successful when I call the G&D. Usually they answer the phone or return the call quickly. I'd try again.

I think they will do anything to get rid of me, so I have been getting excellent service.

But, actually it seems that I have started getting better service when I email or call and ask nicely, rather than trying to be a mean old macho codger. I think it is working out better the nice polite way, and they don't mess up on purpose, hardly anyone does. I think that sometimes bad things just happen......

Hey dog,

Good to hear you got your Feb issue.

I don't mean to give you any guff, but I see some have their March issue. Myself included. Hope yours comes soon! (The 2006 roster comes with it.)

Bill.
