I have some small holes in my oil pan--is it possible to have the inside coated or resurfaced?

I would think cleaning it and sealing it with a gas tank sealer would work. The secret will be to get it clean first. Ylu may want to take it to a radiator shop for cleaning. See you down the back roads.

Hi pe1932c, This is a common problem where water has entered the engine, sunk below the oil, and then rusted through the oil pan. Recommended solution is to clean the pan and then either sand blast or glass bead the interior. This will reveal even more holes and the procedure is to braze all these visible holes. I would be very reluctant to use any type sealer. If the preparation was not good and the liner came loose it would most likely stop up the oil screen to the oil pump. If that happens you will not be happy with the results.

What motor are you working on? If it is a 216 I think I have a oil pan for one that I would sell. Let me know and I will look for it.

If it is a 194. I may have a couple of oil pans in the garage. I can check the condition if you need one.

Even though the 1929-32 engines are 194's, the oil pan for 1932 is different than the oil pan for 1929 or for 1930-31.

What is the noticable difference in a 1932 pan as opposed to 1929-1930-31?

1932 was the first year the back of the pan covered the rear main bearing cap.
