I'm convinced from what most are saying here that of the 3 carbs, W-1 #212-S and #235-S and #569-S the much preferred is the #569-S. How do I identify my carb as the only I.D. present that I can see is: W-1 Pat.12-5-16 and 4.5.18? Assuming that mine is the earlier carb does anyone have a #569-S for sale? You can contact me off line.

The 212 and 235 look the same from the outside. They do not have a port for vacuum on the bottom near the throttle lever. The idle adjustment screw is just under the top of the cast iron casting on the side where the sheet metal pump cover is on your right with the carb upright. The throttle lever will be on the bottom left.

The 569S will have a throttle lever that is straight and most often have 421 indented in the fuel bowl on the end where the pump cover is on the upper right. Those are the most obvious features.

If you can't determine from the above post or email detailed pictures and we can likely ID them.

The 212-S and the 235-S also have straight throttle arms, and the 569-S has the idle adjustment screw down on the base, instead of up top as on the 212-S and the 235-S as Chipper Dipper described. And, the 569-S has a vacuum port as well.

Three other visible differences: Both the 212-S and the 235-S have two screws holding the float bowl cover to the body. The 569-S has four screws in this area instead of two. And, the choke valve on the 212-S and the 235-S is two pieces, but on the 569-S the choke valve is one piece. laugh laugh laugh laugh
