The lubeometer is very common, and when complete with bracket, usually sells for around $25.00.

The price for the Lubrometer on eBay is a rip off! As Raymondo mentioned, they are very common, and many of them that are found are new old stock..in the box with the bracket. I have several myself. The Lubrometer dates from about 1932, and I have seen zillions of them over the years. The Lubrometer was issued free when the customer purchased either a $5 or $10 Service Agreement. Most of the Lubrometers are missing the reset key since the dealer kept the key so that the Lubrometer could be reset when the car was brought into the dealership by the customer. Normally a used Lubrometer will sell for around $25 and I have seen new old stock Lubrometers in the box (with the bracket) bring about $65. laugh laugh laugh

That is strange because I have never seen one before. I usually keep my eyes open for anything pertaining to old trucks. Maybe all of the long nights in the garage or the fumes!

Heck.....you are only 16 years old so there are a lot of things that you haven't seen or heard of since you are just getting started in life. When you get to be as old as Macky Wacky (as I remember the Statue of Liberty is even younger than him) then you will have seen many things and done a lot of things as well.  laugh laugh laugh wink

There are a lot of things that I still have to learn, and it will be very fun and interesting learning all of the things that you guys know! I can't wait until I am old and wise and can teach others! You guys crack me up! Thanks, Bob

P.S. JYD, did you watch American Hotrod last night on TV? Al the frame guy quit too!

Yep, I saw the show last night. Actually, Al the frame man quit at the end of last week's show, and it was a follow up this week. He hated the stupid deadlines that Coddington keeps coming up with for no reason.

Hey Bob.......don't be in a hurry to get old and wise. Old age gets here way faster than you think! Take your time getting there and have lots of fun along the way! dance wink :p cool laugh

I missed the end of last weeks show. Is Boyd just not realizing what he is doing when he makes these deadlines? Oh well. It wouldnt bother me a bit to see his company crash and burn. There would be a few more cars for us out there! And I sure am having fun learning all this stuff, especially learning from you guys! Thanks a lot, Bob

Charlie the painter dude quit Boyd for the same reason several episodes back. Coddington sure seems to enjoy showing the whole world what a non-business man and a non-professional he is. His shop is one place that you don't want to build you a car! :( :( :( :(

Yep. I have seen all of the shows and Boyd just seems to be getting dumber and dumber. Have you seen the one (the only one in which he did anything besides the one where he painted a car) where he tried to drill a hole in the firewall of a car for a steering column? He totally screwed it up.

Yep, I saw that one! I think that was the episode about the "Alumi-Tub". Seems like anything that Boyd puts his hands on he screws up.

Speaking of dumber and dumber, on last night's show they were still working on butchering the '36 F0RD coupe, and Duane (the shop foreman or whatever) called the three guys that were working on the car, "dumb, dumber and dumbest". He should talk......! ha ha!  mad mad mad laugh wink

Ha ha. My dad doesn't like him or Boyd either. The only ones I really liked and respected from that show were Al and Charlie, and I am glad they got wise and left. How many more shows you think Boyd will last before he declares bankrupcy? Say, how about a VCCA show? Restore an old car or truck to original on TV and maybe people will get it??? wink wink :)

Ya, Charlie and Al were my favorites too, mainly because they were professionals and they really knew what they were doing. Charlie tried to tell Boyd on many occasions about the stupid deadline thing, and, of course, Boyd wouldn't listen.

It's just like this '36 F0RD coupe that they are butchering into a roadster. Even Duane said on last night's show that it would have been a lot easier, and Boyd would have been money ahead, if they would have used a real roadster for the project instead of cutting up a coupe to make a roadster. Once again, Boyd wouldn't listen.

As I understand it, Coddington has already been bankrupt once before, and supposedly he is in trouble with the IRS and other factions. You know, so many of us would love to work in a place similar to his, but only with professionals, instead of the "down and dirty" way they do things in that shop. Too bad that the show isn't based on the technical aspect of how to build a street-rod or restore a car, instead of this "dumb and dumber" technology. laugh laugh laugh

I heard about his trouble with the IRS from my cousin. Duane (as you said) said that he'd rather have a rusted out roadster. That would be fine with me because it would have saved a nice car, and made something out of a car that otherwise would have been scrapped. I also have some respect for Roy too, and that Lee guy really cracks me up. I am waiting for Roy to hit him in the head with a dead blow hammer or light him on fire with a torch! Does Boyd just not get it? I mean, he has a rediculous deadline, pushes his men to their breaking points, looses a guy or two, then decides to do another car with an even shorter deadline! Is he snorting crack or what! Check out my post in the suggestions section.

Well........the episode of the Bud Light car ended tonight. This is the 1936 original F0RD coupe that Boyd Coddington cut up to make a street rod roadster for the Budweiser Company. The car turned out to be really cool and high tech........but.......I think that they should have called it the "Bondo Special" because of all of the Bondo that was used on the body. Man, they were spreading it on like Bondo was going out of style. Hum......maybe Boyd owns stock in a Bondo company or something?   :( :( :(

You should be crying because they are going to kill JAG in two weeks, Now they did have a nice little red Chevy convertible on the Jag show last night!....I was in the USMC (must have been the old Corps) We didn't EVER see anyone like those lady Marine gals on JAG, I would probably have stayed in if they had Col. Mc back then!

Chill out Mackus Wackus....after all JAG is just a TV show! You watch your TV show and we will watch ours. wink Our show is based on cars, and your show is based on a great looking lady. Besides (and you can ask Mrs. Junkyard Dog), when John M. Jackson (Admiral A.J. Chegwidden) left JAG, I predicted that the show would end.......and it is. So there! laugh laugh laugh

I wonder.... a show about a dork running a garage that butchers cars and has all kinds of management problems... Is that something you would want your puppies watching....So double there!
