Run a tap into the hole, remove the tap, and then blow the dust out or use your shop vac and suck the dust out. You may need a # 3 tap to get all the way to the bottom of the threads.

Improvise! A pressure washer works for me, then squirt in some WD-40 or PB Blaster and blow out with compressed air. I also use a small screwdriver, from a set like you can buy at Radio Shack Tom Is "The Redheaded Stranger" not available on 8 track?
