About 20 years ago at a garage sale I purchased a set of book ends from a older lady. She told me that the book ends had been given or awarded to her father by the Chevy dealership where he was a salesman.

Does anyone know anything about these book ends? Or was the lady blowing smoke...

The cars are gold metal about 10" long touring car (1911?) sitting on a piece of dark wood (4" x 1 1/2") with a another piece of wood on a 90 degree angle from the other piece of wood.

Yep! Those bookends were given to dealers and they are actually fairly common. I had two sets and I am down to one set for my collection. Year wise......and I might be off on this a little.....but I think that they date back to about the late 1960's or early 1970's as I remember. laugh laugh laugh laugh

There is a complete family of items from the same period that uses the touring and truck as the basis of the item. They include the desk set with two pens, a truck lamp that uses the truck model and the shade, has trucks from 1919 to 70's, a car lamp with the touring and a round shade with pictures of the cars, the book ends, again using the touring car as the center theme, a letter holder that hangs on the wall with a digital clock, slots for letters and the touring car.

As JYD says, most of these items are regularly found for sale with modest prices.

OH NO, not another ebay collection mission; maybe the book ends will have to be enough for me...but does anyone have the '55 (2nd series) truck lamp or a '32 car lamp or a '57 car lamp?

Thanks for the information..., Ray.

Does a '55 Cameo pickup qualify? Or a '32 pickup? They are on the truck lamp.

Can't remember what models are on the car lamp. Mine is stored in a box.

I have all of the family of trucks and cars. I have duplicates of most of them. I have donated 4 of the items to two different museums. They just have a habit of following me home.
