Hey Kepi! That's a bummer! I emailed and received replacements for my two G&D's that the post office lost. They arrived in just a couple of days because they were sent first class.

By the way, your carburetor is on the way.

When (or if) you get your G&D depends on whether your letter carrier is a Chevy person or a Furd person or a Mopar person...

My guy is a Furd person, so he ain't reading it. Maybe it's his way of getting even.
Thanks Junkyard. My original is in place with a couple of patches. I was just hoping to replace it while I was waiting for the wood to get here.

I get my G&D around the 18th of the month, and the plastic is often got a 1 1/2 slit in it. I guess our mailman has a look too, either that or the Canada Customs guy. Sure hope he drives a Chevy!! "Well I am sure we have converted him by now".

Cool! Your parcel was sent four days ago from Oregon and your G&D was sent three weeks ago from California, south of where you live. The parcel came via FedEx ground and the G&D came via the post office. Does that tell ya anything??? ha ha! laugh laugh laugh

Now you see why I ship everything via UPS or FedEx and nothing through the post office if the package is over three pounds. Not only is the service better and faster, but the first $100 worth of insurance is free and the tracking is free too....and the shipping is cheaper to boot. Hum....maybe there is a way to ship all of the G&Ds via FedEx? ha ha!  laugh laugh laugh wink

My magazine arrived today, Dec 23, right on time. I thought with the large volume of Christmas mail it would be late.

I would suggest putting a parts wanted ad in the G&D it often will find the parts that never will be advertised for sale. People just don't get around to sending in the ad but will respond to the plea of a fellow old Chevy restorer. That way you will have the first chance at the parts even before the Dog and other Left Coasters.

hey chipper,

don't toss me in the dog pound with the hounds...I live half the distance from the printer's mailing point to the old mutt's doghouse, but it always takes twice as long to arrive here...

Kepi,
I tried to not include everyone on the Left Coast when I wrote "the Dog and other Left Coasters". I sympathise with anyone that needs a part and can't buy it because the horders get it first. Once the G&D becomes electronically distributed then everyone will have an equal chance. That is if they are online. Don't hold you breath for that possibility to happen any time soon. Unless you live in Aussie land. I hear they get someone on the Left Coast to fax the classified pages to one or more of them.
