I have just purchased a radio that I hope is correct for my 41 1/2 ton. The number on the side of the case on the metal strip is B47 - 96874. All tags are intact on the top and bottom of the case. The radio has a speaker mounted to the top of the case with the wiring going directly to the radio so I assume it was a factory install. Any information would be most helpful. Thank You.

If it turns out to be the correct radio for your truck, I would not install it since you are apparently using an 8 volt battery instead of a six volt battery.

Hi 8thairforce,

If you are interested in installing a correct radio in your 1941 truck, do not install the 1947 unit you have. The 1941 truck radio is a one year only, and has a chrome faceplate unlike the 1947 you have.

If you are running 8-volts I would give up on the radio til you get a chance to convert back to 6-volts. Then you can look for a 1941 radio.
