I recently purchased a Chevy pin back advertising button on eBay (#2207832427). It says "try it" showing a hand gesturing to a steering wheel (appears to be 30's style). Chev bow tie also on button. Color is black background with yellow. Size is 1" dia. Anyone know what year this might be? Any help appreciated.

Thanks, Ron Holzschuh (e-mail rbholz@juno.com)

There are at least three buttons that have the same general description. At least one is a reproduction produced in the 60s or 70s. The original was produced for the 1931 Chevrolet model year.

Here is a picture of a pair of those buttons. They are of different sizes and interestingly, they do not indicate any manufacturer or ownership on the back as most of these pins do. They are also noticeably different in the shade of the yellow/orange.

Thanks Guys for the info. I wasn't aware that there were "repops" out there. This one has a little rust on edge of the back. It appears to have been a 2 piece button with the front being snapped over the back, similiar to the skins on a 30-40's hub cap. Either way, its a pin I didn't have. Happy Motoring!!
