IS THERE DOCUMENTATION ON THE DIFFERENT ONES FOR WHICH YEAR THEY WERE USED>> ON THE EARLY CHEVS THAT HAD THE TOOL KIT UNDER THE SEAT, WHAT KIND OF OIL CAN WAS USED AS TO KEEP THE OIL FROM RUNNING OUT, BECAUSE THE OIL CAN WOULD HAVE TO LAY DOWN???? :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: DON BOLTZ FROM THE EVERGREEN STATE

What I need is one of those Marvel Mystery Oil kits that injects MMO into the engine thru a hookup to a vacuum line, JYD so you have a New in the box one you will sell? d2d2 ChatMaster - 750 Joined: Jan 2002 Posts: 980 Albuquerque, New Mexico	The oil can is part number 344600 and cost 10 cents in 1935, fits 1929-35. If you have old Chevrolets, other old Chevrolets will find out where you live.

When Chevrolet began to oil the valve train with oil from the engine they no longer needed a oil can to be mounted on the firewall. There was a need to oil the starter, generator, water pump bushing, etc. so an oil can was still included in the tools. The can was not on the firewall and was going to be stored in the tool well under the seat. If it was one of the round cans with open nozzle end it would leak and make a mess. So they supplied a can with a cap. No not the machine gun can supplied to US military but similar. I will post a picture if I can figure out how to do it. I will first need to take a picture on one. Stay tuned. How Sweet the roar of a Chevy four!

OP CHEVY ChatMaster - 1,000 Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 1,281 ORTING,WASHINGTON	WELL WELL WELL, I JUST GOT BACK FROM THE SWAP MEET IS MONROE WASHINGTON AND I RAN ACROSS RAYMONDO TRYING TO BUY EVERYTHING IN SIGHT FOR HIS CHEVYS, I EVEN TRIED TO GET HIM TO SELL ME ONE OF HIS FOUR CYLINDER CHEVS, BUT NO SUCH LUCK. I TOLD HIM NOBODY NEEDS THAT MANY CARS, BUT THE ANSER WAS, NO NO NO. I DID BUY A BUNCH OF NOS GREEN ARMY OIL CANS WITH THE CAP THAT SCREWS IN THE END TO KEEP THE OIL FROM LEAKING OUT. I FIGURED FOR 5 DOLLARS EACH THAT WAS A GOOD BUY. IF ANYBODY WOULD LIKE TO BUY ONE LET ME KNOW. THEY ARE REALLY COOL AND I CANT WAIT TO USE ONE FOR MY OIL AND HAVE IT WITH MY TOOLS UNDER THE FRONT SEAT, NO LEAKING. DON BOLTZ FROM THE EVERGREEN STATE

The correct oil can from the U.S. Army has a socket on it.
