Yes, But when? Dad got the Coupe in 59 and my brother remembers it working. But now the main unit is gone. What remains is the 3" X 4" control unit cut into the dash. It has three knobs and the AM dial. Three cables about 16" extend out from the control to the missing main set. It was lighted for night driving and a small red pilot light showed when it was on. talk :cool2: Can anyone tell me more about it? Thanks dads 28

Hi dads 28,

For sure I can tell you it is aftermarket and much later year that your car. It is NOT Chevrolet as no Chevrolet radio had three control cables. Agrin

Has anyone noticed the horn (siren?) on the Harley in the Route 66 article in the latest Automobile Quarterly? And what about the 2
horns on the front of the '30 Chevy in March 1931 Chevrolet Service News?

Yep, just checked my 1932 calendar and sure enough it has a December in it. Guess that qualifies.

Yep, glad that you figured that out. laugh laugh laugh Amazingly, 1930 had a December too (no Chevrolet radio though), and I think that there was also a December in 1951 as well. Anyway, see ya at Fort Klamath (where in the hell is that?) tomorrow! laugh laugh laugh

Do you have a picture of the radio head (That's the part in your dash) ? The head is the hard part to find. There are a lot of old radios around , and if it is possible to identify the head (what kind of radio it went to), it may be possible to find a radio for it.

My Chevy is over 70 years old and still running great. I hope I keep running cuz I just turned 81 !!

Well OK it took me 3 months to get this picture. I'm glad I still know the difference between 19mm and 3/4". bigl [Linked Image from ameritech.net]

Wow! Thats too cool. Very "art deco" in style. Hope you can find a master unit to suit if you decide to keep it in place.
Tim.
