Hi Brad,
You are correct in that the Philco is not a correct radio for your truck. (Correct, defined as: not available from Chevrolet). Chevrolet did provide a radio for your truck. The Model # is: 985792. I have not written an article on that specific radio for the G&D, however if you will check the Dec 87 issue you will see the same radio in the configuration for car installation. The truck version was the same with internal speaker. It is mounted to the LEFT of the steering column. If you do not have access to the G&D, email me and I will send you a picture. laugh Wish you luck on your restoration and welcome to the VCCA. :)

Hi Brad B,

Looks like you are a candidate to join the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America (VCCA). The G&D is the Generator and Distributor, the club's monthly publication to the membership.

Look directly under this post and you will see VCCA Homepage. Click on that link and it will take you to the National VCCA home page.

You could even complete an application and join up from that site.

I invite you to join, you will not be disappointed.

laugh wink  :)
