Farmer was 75+ years old.That means he was only about 27 when he bought the truck.You can add another 100,000 to the milage.
You would be very disapointed if you drove the 1 ton truck.Very bouncy riding and slow.
I would rather have a 1/2 ton.
Its is a cute truck though and no/little rust.

It IS a nice example of an original 48 one ton.
In his description the guy says something like "...it runs and drives like a brand new 48 Chev Truck..."
Even if that's true, it doesn't mean it's a "nice" ride. At best it means it rides and drives like a truck. And a 48 one ton at that.
A 48 half-ton pick'em-up truck isn't exactly "smooth." A one ton...... well, the buyer had better want a truck and know what it's like, or he's going to be very disappointed!

I think driving that big ol thing, and bouncing all around would be a BLAST !!!!
If I want a smooth ride I drive my cobalt.

The seller knows his trucks . . . I bet he has bought and sold 30+ chevy and GMC trucks in the last 2-3 years. I wonder if the farmer put those headlight covers on?  As for the ride of a '48 - I have a '48 GMC 1-ton with the 9ft pickup bed - it is a kidney buster for sure, but lots of fun all the same.

You just have to be a real man to drive the big ones; just try a 131" wb with overload springs and no load in truck. Even the double action shock option doesn't help a bit.
34 & 35 trucks are the greatest. 36 high cabs are OK too.

I will never forget driving new 2 ton trucks with no body mounted on the back.Would do dealer trades back in 1950 and learned to press my back into the seat to limit bouncing.A saddle and seat belts would have helped.
