Does anyone have a source for what the seat and door panel colors were that were offered in the Advance Design 47-54 COE's?
I have seen both black and brown that look factory stock.

Actually black was never used in a Chevrolets.COEs used the same colors as all other trucks. The card board door panel trim 1947-53-is described in the parts books as maroon. The seat material is the same colors and I would describe it as a brown-maroon mix.The truck data book also describes it the same.

lil'johnny, The Chevy COE's used the same cab interior colors as all the other size trucks for the yrs. '47-53, cab interior paint was semi-flat gray-brown lacquer with slight metallic. Seat covers were originally Spainish grain maroon, headliners were originally medium brown, and door panels were the spanish maroon color of the seat cover. Jim Carter has the best selection of these products that I've come across www.oldchevytrucks.com

Often when the seat material wore out the trim shops would use a black material to replace it....or what ever they had laying around.

lil'johnny, I forgot to mention about the '54 & 55 1st. COE interior in my earlier reply. They were totally different than the '47-'53 trucks. The standard cab interior paint color was pearl beige, with pearl beige headliner, spanish grain brown seat cover, & spanish grain brown door panels. The deluxe cab trucks for 54 & 55 1st. had two-tone green, two-tone blue, & two-tone gray interior colors. I beg to differ whth ya this one Spanky. I have not seen a 54/ 55 1st series truck [ be it COE or conventional ] that has had the '47-'53 interior " champagne" color. All the 54/55's I have seen were grey or a 2 tone green or blue.

MOTHERTRUCKER, I've had 4 '54 Chevy's & 1 '55 1st series truck & all had beige interior color with brown seat covers & door panels. I have a uncle that has a '54 2 Ton conv. dump that he bought new & it has the beige color interor. Haven't you noticed that all the NOS '54 clock housings are BEIGE in color. I've seen several deluxe cab '54 Chevy's with the two-tone gray & a couple with two-tone green. Spanky Hardy Collector Of Fine Old G.M. COE Trucks & Antique Holmes Wreckers.

The parts book lists the following colors for the front seat trim....standard cab--brown or gray and maroon,....DeLuxe cab--maroon and biege, blue, brown and white, and green. The inside sun visor is only shown in dark biege but I working out of a 1957 book and other colors may have been discontinued by then.

Well MOTHERTRUCKR! Must be a EAST Coast , WEST COAST thang, cause the majority of the '54. '55 1st. trucks here are the Beige interior cabs. The majority of the trucks here were built in Atlanta & Baltimore. Spanky Hardy...............Collector Of Fine Old G.M. COE Trucks & Antique Holmes Wreckers.

I harvested a matched pair of inside sunvisors outta a 54 chevy truck over 25 years ago & they are the factory originals. They are a light green color & they have been installed on my green '51 for 25 years now. chevy

lil' johnny, I thought the same , about the 60 - 40 seat, beginning in '54, until I buy this truck and it has one in it. At first I figured someone had installed it later on, but from what I can see (comparing the two trucks ), everything looks factory installed. I figured that since this was a late production '53, that maybe the seat was available at the time of its assembly?. The '53 I have only has 37000, actual miles, & was purchased from a fellow that was working for the company it came from, when it was new. I think I'll try to contact him and see what he says about the seat. He was the 2nd owner, I'm the 3rd. I agree with you about these COE's not following in line with the norm, when it comes to options, I had another '53 Chevy COE that I sold several yrs. ago, and it had the chrome on the dash,('47 -'51 style), and the large chrome '47 -'51 cab grab handles. So who knows. Don't know what to tell you about that black seat cover you have. Could be the senerio you mentioned. Spanky Hardy................Collector Of Fine Old G.M.
