Hi All

Just uploaded an old Chevy Truck Models Sales Brochure that was sent to me and I'm not sure what year this is... Maybe 1948?

Truck Models Brochure This is in Adobe Reader (.pdf) format and about 20.5mb. This is until I have time to format into regular web pages.

Please let me know what year this is for.

Cheers!

The truck literature from those years will have a picture of the passenger based sedan delivery in the first pages. It will have the same grille as that years passenger car.If the grille has the "T" bar overlay in the center of the grille its a 1948.No "T" bar a 1947.If the modern desingn car a 1949 or 1950.1950 features will show the direct acting air plane type shock absorbers.1949 and prior lever type (on 1/2 tons).I am downloading it but will take an hour and 1/2.........

Hi Gene,

I'll take a closer look at the pictures in the brochure. If you want, I can send you a copy of the brochure on a CD and/or paper. Just let me know.

The "Specialty Foods" sedan delivery on (I think) page 12 doesn't appear to have a "T" Bar in the Grill. Therefore, I'm 'voting' itsa 1947.

Compared to actual photos, an artist's rendition can make it difficult to tell such things.

But it does look 47 to me.

Incidentally, very nice piece. Congrats on getting it!!!

Keith,
Welcome to Katy, TX. We in the SJR have an active group in the Houston area. If you send me your address I will send a newsletter or I can send by email. We even have a couple of members who also live in Katy.

Got it and will email a San Jacinto Region newsletter tonight.

Sorry to hi-jack the topic. Since I can't open the link I will have to wait until it is formatted and posted on the web.

Yes, Keith, you can send me a picture.I have the 1948 sales catalog.Page 12 has the sedan delivery. The T bar can easily be seen but may not show up on the screen as its a side view of the grille.
Note on page 6, the description of the NEW 4 speed transmission.1948 was the first year of the syncronized 4 speed.

Thanks for helping out here Gene.

Initially I thought I could see the "T" bar on the SD on Page 12. But then I decided I couldn't.

So I said.....

Thank goodness you had the brochure and didn't have to try and get a good look off a monitor!!!

Bill.
