Hi, I just replaced my old door seals around the door. The door now doesn't close as tightly as before. Is there an adjustment to the striker to bring the door into the body more? I looked at the manual and it would seem that the new seal needs some time to seat to bring it back to its original tightness with the body. Any suggestions? I replaced the seals with those from the Filling Station.
Thanks,
Jim

bacchus10 Before you start adjusting the door catch make sure the catch clicks twice. It maybe that with the new seals it is only going to the first notch. If this is the case adjust the catch outwards so that there is the 2 clicks as it shuts. Tony

what year's your truck?..'48?.. like tonyw suggests, new seals should be taller than when they've "set," so the doors should fit tighter, not looser, when new... epi

epi, Yeap, it's a 48. The doors do fit tighter with the new seal. The doors do click twice when shut, perhaps it is just that they need to settle in a few days. The one's I replaced were original and the new ones were comparitively much thicker.

sounds like it'll be fine once they compress the correct amount in the each area...give them a little time... epi
