I know it is in the Shop Manual, but I cannot find the pounds of torque required to bolt the clutch pressure plate assembly to the flywheel on my 1937 1/2 ton pickup.

Can anyone verify what the pounds of torque are to bolt the clutch pressure plate assembly to the flywheel?

Thanks for the information!!

Joe :)

I don't know if this will help. I checked my copy of the 1937 shop manual. I could not find any reference to pounds of torque to be used. The info sought may be in the 3rd to last sentence in the quote from the manual that follows. Hope it helps.

On page 148 under the heading, "To Install Clutch" it says to: "Assemble the clutch disc to the flywheel and place the clutch cover and pressure plate assembly into position with the nine screw holes in the clutch cover, lining up with the screw holes in the flywheel. NOTE--The "X" mark on the clutch cover should be lined up as near as is possible with the "X" mark on the flywheel. These "X" marks are balance marks. Place the clutch pilot tool, Fig. 94, into position. This tool properly lines up the disc so that when the transmission is assembled the splines on the main drive gear shaft will line up and enter easily the splines in the clutch disc. Assemble the nine cap screws holding the clutch cover to the flywheel, tightening each one one turn at a time until the cover assembled into position. Remove the clutch disc aligning tool. Assemble throwout bearing sleeve." chevy chevy chevy
