A friend of mine (computer challenged !) asked if the '37 trucks carried a plate similar to the one pictured below only with the data pertaining to a truck or did they only have the Serial Number plate? I'm not sure - can anyone answer this one for me ??

That plate was used for Fisher Body cars only.
Earlier open cars with a Chevrolet body and trucks did not have one.

The plate above is for a Fisher Body black 37 Rumble coupe. Martin Parry bodied trux have their own plate.
The plates are located where the passenger steps into the single unit truck and there are usually only 2 screw holes left.
The body numbers are located on this plate. They may be located under the box on a double unit truck, but I've never seen one. There was one under my Coupe Pickup box as well as the Fisher body plate on the cowl.
I'll email you photos as I don't have these on a web page yet.
