What do you guys use to coat your exhaust manifolds....paint, powder coat?

HI 6pac,
I was thinking of using a kind of black paste that is used for cast iron stoves on my exhaust, the two engines I have both have no sign of paint or finish on it, could be their age though, '27 '28

Richard,
I think that stuff would look good, but most of the people I know who have used it say they put it on a couple times per year. I'm hoping for a one shot deal.

I had a set done by Jet Hot or Jet Coat in Hartford CT two years ago it seems to be lifetime (so far) and a one shot deal. I think I paid $150 for the pair and the heat riser. They do have a website, I will try to find the phone number

i glass bead the exh. manifolds then coat them with eastwood's manifold paint. it'll withstand the heat of a small block or big block chevy. some of the manifolds i did 20 years ago are still rust-free. and the eastwood coating doesn't rub off on the judges fingers like the calyx product.. mike

Mike,
I used eastwood for years and found after a few years I had to do it all over again. I think if the car is driven a lot it does not hold up as well

I leave mine rusty as that it how they were when the car was delivered to the customer.
