Can anyone give me a clear picture of their firewall on an original '39 Chevy truck so that I can see what holes are original on my truck? Thanks, Bob

Hi Bob,
You may what to check with the tech advisor for that info. I remember looking in a junk yard at a '46 1/2 ton pickup firewall that had rubber plugs with bowties on them stuck in the firewall holes. I had, and still have, the same question you asked. I never did get to the bottom of it though.
You see when I was 16 I was (and still am) obsessed with '41-46 Chevy pickups. I have a lot of fond memories searching in junkyards and the country side looking for parts. It's funny that was 1975 and I still do that today. I guess I'll never grow up.
I share your interest. I'm glad your not hacking the old truck up. If I had a dime everytime someone told me to drop a 327 in the old truck... well you know the rest. I bet you're heard that a bunch also.
Good luck Bob!

Thank you very much for agreeing on stock trucks. When I take people into my garage and show them my truck, which is 100%, down to the very last bolt original, about 3/4 of them pop the infamous question "Are ya gonna hot rod it". Dont get me wrong, I do like some rat rods and nostalgic rods, but a car or truck should only be hot rodded when it is missing 99% of its parts. GM styled their trucks perfectly from the factory, therefore they need no change. Thanks a ton, Bob.

Bob,
I have a 39 1/2 ton apart. It had a heater added but I don't recall if it appeared to be a correct installation of a correct heater. As I remember, I has no other extra holes in the firewall. Will a photo of this firewall help?
Mike

Yes, it will. I am not worried about the heater holes because I am not running one. Your picture oughta help me a lot. Thanks, Bob

35Mike, do you still have those pictures of your '39? They would be a big help. Thanks, Bob
