The original tire for front and rear were "30x5, 6-ply". Optional tire size for the rear wheels "32x6, 8-ply". The rims were 20" diameter and 5" wide. Modern equivalent tires are 6.00x20. Alternates are 6.50x20 or 7.00x20.
It is very dangerous to attempt to change the tires if you don't have a method to collapse the rim and reduce the diameter. It can be done but there are serious pinch points. A rim compressor, expander is the way to go if you don't have the special tool shown in the Repair Manual.
