I have a 1939 ton and a half conventional cab Chevy truck and cannot find anyone who makes kingpins for it, or any NOS sets. I need the pins, bushings, bearings, and the whole set. Does anyone know where I can get a set? Thanks Bob.

That is the type of item that appears regularly on ebay.

The kingpins on Ebay are for Cab overs, not for conventional cabs.

That king pin set, Chevrolet part #601019 covers 1931-42 1 1/2 tons,1946-50 3/4. 1 and 1 1/2 ton (with exceptions) and 1951-52 3/4 and 1 tons.Try a parts house that carries the MOOG line-or continue to watch eBay

Bob,

You are looking for Group 6.203 kits

In 1939 the 1-1/2 tons conventional cab is considered a Heavy Duty Utility with model designations as follows:
VA 133" wheelbase w/single rear wheels
VB 133" wheelbase w/dual rear wheels
VC 158-1/2" wheelbase with single rear wheels
VD 158-1/2" wheelbase with dual rear wheels

All GM Utility trucks shared the same front axle from 1931-1940 (non COE heavy duty trucks)

The GM Utility trucks shared the same series spindle (knuckle) from 1937-1942 (non COE, schoolbus heavy duty trucks)

Based on this, the king pins for any 1937-1940 heavy duty non-COE truck should fit your 1939.

As previously mentioned - the 601019 kit looks like the right kit. I had one of these kits that I purchased from eBay about a year ago thinking it was for a 1/2 ton and wound up giving it away to another chevy truck nut.

I bought a set a while ago from Ebay that said it was for 1939 "Chevy heavy duty all Coe". I thought it mean all heavy duty models and COEs. Turns out they were only for COEs. Thanks for the info. Ill keep looking!

Bob, I found my 1993 MOOG catalog.Truck king pins are listed back to 1946.Using a 1950 1 ton as an example (same as 1940 1 1/2 ton) MOOG #8207B is shown....To farther varify, the king pin demensions are (ones contained in MOOG kit) Diameter .9210", length 5.125", distance from center of lock pin notch to end of pin-2.531".Measure your old pin in an area where no wear would have occured.

A word of caution. The king pin sets sold by Chevrolet were available in standard size as well as .010" and .020" oversize. If the I beam was previously reamed out to an oversize the MOOG set will not work as it is available in srandard size only.
