Don't know, but look under the hood and see if there are any extra holes, homemade holes, etc for clues. Good luck.

lil'johnny, That hood ornament is from Chevy. It was more commonly used on '49 & '50 Chevy cars but made its way to a bunch of trucks. I've seen them on alot of Original Advance Design trucks in my area. 4 of my parts trucks have it on them. If you or anyone else needs one, i've got a box full of them, that have never been mounted. Catch ya later, Spanky

Dealers removed many of the production hood ornaments to install the accessory ones.Any large dealer had boxes of take-off ornaments sitting around. They ended up being put on most every thing. The AD truck ornament is the flat lower plate (wide) with a small raised portion in the center that begins about 3 inches back from the front edge.

Chevy Nut, That's exactly where this box of Hood ornaments came from, that I have. An elderly gentleman, who worked at one of the local Chevy Dealerships that went out of business years ago ,gave them to my brother. He had said they had sat in the parts ware house for many years. Spanky

Johnny, I like them ornaments on a truck because when you are driving thru the woods and hit a woodpecker, the hood ornament will knock all the crap outta him before he hits the windshield!

That is reason # 39 why not to bullnose an advance design truck!

lil' johnny, I had one of the '53, '54 accessory hood birds, dissassembled it to clean it, now all I can find is the base half of it. Can't find the bird. Have you ever seen the rarely used '47-'53 GMC hood ornament(oops was I supposed to say that word) prt no.2233249,it looked like the more commonly used hood rocket prt. no. 2233301, except it had a clear lucite insert instead of the wings. The same ornament was used on '47 Oldsmobile cars. Catch ya later , Spanky

Thanks M.T. , for that website. The hood ornament that they have listed as a '46 Olds. hood ornament,is the one i'm talking about. It was also available for use on '47-53 GMC trucks. I've got a GMC Parts & Accessories Album, that list this very same Hood Ornament, for the trucks. Spanky

lil'johnny, Yeah i've been looking for one of those lucite insert ornaments, especially after I saw a guy on ebay several months ago selling repo. incerts. There was also one of the ornaments on ebay, & I bid too conservatly and lost out. My brother had a '51 GMC pickup years ago, that had one on it, but we thought it was off of something else. If I had known it was as rare as it was, I would have removed it before he sold it. Rob English of the www.oldgmctrucks website told me I was the only person he knew that had documentation that this was an available GMC ornament. Spanky
