When did chev produce flat head 6 anyway, I call that a ohv.
I dont think they had cloth seats in 1952.
Otherwise seems like a good restoration. ok

It is a bea-------ti-------ful truck. Looks like the '52 fire truck for sale on ebay too. Would make a cool pair.

Would love to have it.

What about that engine color??

What about the shocks, also? I thought '52 had spiral shocks.

Gator, you are correct, the shocks are modern replacements. The engine color is correct except that the valve cover should be gray also, not black.

The interior should NOT be body color (white) it should be a grayish-brown, as should the steering wheel, not black. To be completely stock, the floor of the bed should be flat black, not shiny varnish, although this is a very common upgrade, because let's face it - when you build a real pretty truck, it's hard to paint that wood flat black instead of shiny urethane oak and shiny rub strips!

Overall, it's a real nice truck, just a few departures from bone stock, as above.

Now at $12,000, I guess the 'good deal' isn't quite as good anymore.

The '52 fire truck is still a good deal. Kinda hard to use as a daily driver.

Chrome sells and most uninitiated like the look of a dolled up vehicle. Like ChevNut said in an earlier post, most AD trucks came through the factory with little or no options and seeing as this is a 52 there should be no chrome at all. Also it appears to have the Fresh-Air heater but no heater control valve.I'm also surprised by the number of people that ask if my 50 or 51 still has the "Flathead Six" in it. I guess maybe because all assume that's what they were since Dodge and Ford still had flatheads.
On another note I came across an AD pickup in a salvage yard in Nebraska a couple of years ago that had a flathead Ford V-8 installed in it. Unfortunately it was getting dark and I didn't have time to check it out more closely. When I went back a year later, it was gone.
