does anybody know if there are any replacements for nail on rain gutters or the side belt mouldings? they are like the 29/30 style. the belt mouldings are 3/4 round aluminum.
thanks, joe

Joe,
Maybe you could make the dies and have some extruded or pulltruded. I am sure the '27-30 guys would thank you. Maybe you could convince Bob to make them if he thought he could sell a few sets. You can also check with Gary Wallace on the rain gutters. He used repops on his '28 coach.

How about sharing some detail pictures of the body in restoration. Photos of the wood framing may help someone restore theirs?

unfortunatly i'm not far enough along to offer pictures. i do have pictures of other sedan deliveries that i will be using for refrence. at the time i'm gathering parts & pieces that will help at assm time. information on these early sedan deliveries is few & far between. using early parts manuals plus asking questions seems to be the only way to get this car put back together the way chevrolet sent it from the factory. if anybody has any factories photos of these cars, especially interior shots, i could use them. i'ld be more than happy to pay for reprints. anybody who would like to contact me & share info would be adventatious to all others restoring these cars. if you don't wish for others to know what you have you may contact me through e-mail. all your personal info will be kept in MY FILES only
thanks, joe

Maybe we could work out some sort of arrangement between different members of the VCCA to obtain pictures that they need for their restoration project. laugh

Something along these lines:

1. Someone is going to a show or meet that I can't get to. :(

2. I ask that person going to the show or meet to take multiple pictures of a certain type car by either year or model, ie '32 or sedan, or 32 pick-ups, etc. I could ask for pics of motor area or interior or general or whatever. :)

3. I then get them to send me either the roll of film or the disk or the developed pictures (to be worked out between the 2 people). :)

4. Either before or after (the 2 people decide)getting the pictures or the film, I pay the camera person for the film and any other expenses like developing or cost of the disk, etc. :)

5. For people that do computers it could even be easier, but I don't know that much about them.

I know that I would be happy to take pictures of a car for someone in order to help them "see" something. dance

What do you guys think????? Could this work???

So little is known overall about sedan deliveries and very few of your vintage are ever seen, so it will be great to see your "delivery" when it is completed. Please keep us posted on the project too, if possible. :cool2: laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh

Would one of you computer whizs (or whizzes?) tell me how 2 of us could send pics to each other with the computer? What software would I need? camera? etc?

Maybe we could build a photo library of pics somewhere in the VCCA site or another place so members could go there and download pics of certain features of cars or cars, etc. Could really be helpful if we could "blow up" areas of the photos for close up looks.

Is this something we would want to do or not?

Gator after the ordeal of explaining how a solonoid works , now you want us to explain emailing pictures and files as attachments?

Well like we say here in Texas, I Think I will take a shot at it!

You just need to have the picture on your computer as a picture file ending with an image extension such as mypicture.jpg or anotherpic.bmp How does a picture get digitized and put on your computer? (are you still with me?)You can scan it into your computer, put a picture on your computer from a digital camera, like my Sony Mavica which stores photos on a standard floppy disc. You can have your film from your camera put on a CD by Kodak when you have the film developed and prints made, You can save a picture to your computer from the internet or receive it as an attachment in an email message.Software, that comes with a scanner. If you can print pictures with your computer printer you probably already have an imageing software program on your computer.
Ok what next?

Oh! how to send it in e-mail, before you send the message click on attachments, that is how you attach a file either text or an image file, and follow the instructions, it is really pretty simple, after you have the picture saved to your computer or even on a floppy disc.

Also Thanks for your nice comment about Texas, I don't really expect you would be able to say much bad about The Lone Star State! We have some gators here but they are becomeing endangered, someone told the armadillos that Gators taste just like chicken.

Jiaccino when you talk about the belt moulding do you mean the 3/4 half round or D shaped aluminium extrusion if so it is available here in Australia of the shelf.
