looking for the location of the oil filter on a 49 chevy pickup, 3600 w/a 217 engine?

The optional oil filter on a 1949 chevy truck 216 C.I. engine WHEN used was bolted to the intake manifold with 2 u bolts and had an intake hose and outlet hose attached to the left side of the block below the manifolds and above the pan. it was a canister type filter , the lid was removed and a cartrige filter element was inside. the new filter box also included replace ment gaskets. there were 2 popular makes, a orange Fram with a black top, and a blue AC.

thanks for the quick response ,now we know why we couldnt find it.

Any suggestions on best source for restoration parts?
