I took my '29 out this weekend for the first time! Real cool. Got a lot of attention. One thing I noticed is the temp dial did not move the hole 45 minutes I had it out and running. I am thinking sender is bad, but dont know how to test. Any thoughts??? chevy chevy cool cool

You have already performed the first test. Put the sensor in hot water and see if you get a reading. Second since it didn't work correctly you need to check it electrically. Use a volt/ohm meter to determine if the wire, gage or sensor has an open or short. You can also use a continuity meter or wire, battery and light bulb. I don't have a diagram or specifications for the sensor but feel that it is a variable resistor that uses a bridge circuit with the meter to indicate temperature (like the gas gage). If so you should be able to find the problem with a Volt/Ohm meter.

The are only -29 who have this type of sensors.
(4 bimetall springs)

Wasn't there an article in think G & D about repairing or replacement of this sensor??? I didn't save the article - wherever I read it. Anybody else remember reading anything like this. :eek: :( :confused: laugh
