Good evening guys. As I'm sure you all know projects are slow to move along and problems come about.Perhaps one of you can help. I have replaced all of the wood on my 29. I'm trying to hang the front doors. The hinges are in the right places but the doors will not close all the way. They hit against the stops of the hinge. It's as if the hinges need have a bend in them. Is there something that I am overlooking or not doing right? I would really appreciate the help. Bob

Did you make the wood yourself or buy a kit? I suspect that the front door post is rotated (counterclockwise - passenger, clockwise - driver) keeping the door from closing properly. If everything is glued, nailed in place you can recut the slot for the door hinges to be more perpendicular to the body permitting the hinge to be in the proper position to close the door. DO NOT bend the hinges!!

I got the wood from James Rodman(autowood restoration)nothing is glued. I guess I will have to figure out a way to rotate the posts or do some modifications to get the doors to closed properly. Thanks

Call James Rodman and explain your problem. I am sure he will have a suggestion or things for you to check. His kits fit and he will help if he can.
