any tricks for keeping the gas fumes down on the '30?.. a small amount of gas routinely gets out through the small vent hole in the center of the gas tank cap, vaporizes, and gives me a big headache... :( any suggestions would be appreciated... epi

Just keep your nose out of the gas tank! and maybe leave a window cracked in your garage.

no, no, mrmack, the gasoline sloshes out while I'm driving...and sets on the top of the gas cap & vicinity...and the vapors make their way around and to my brain (what's left of it, anyway)...which is why I'm trying to preserve the few grey matter cells I have... epi

I can only suggest adding an additional layer to the bottom or top side of the cap. Some screen or fabric with tiny openings or a cup with a hole in it added to the bottom side. Or a cover with vent hole on the top of the cap. If on the cover you will need to have something that will clear the bottom of the seat and have some provision to remove and tighten the cap.

OKAY, I didn't quite get your drift. the vent should NOT do that, maybe you can get a good cap or place a piece of gasket material inside the cap so that gas vapor will vent but not the liquid. ....Sorry!

Kepi, You likely have the correct cap. It is a common problem to have a little gas on top of the cap on a bouncy road with the gas tank 3/4 or more full.

chip, that's it, exactly...and around here, seems the only place there aren't bumpy roads is where there are no roads... are repop caps available?..maybe I could get one and try some mods to it, maybe add a vent tube?..what do you think?.. epi

How long (if at all) could he run a non-vented cap when he is driving so he doesn't get sick? When he arrives or parks he can replace the non-vented with the vented one. Don't jump on me if I'm totally out in left field, I really don't know how critical the vent is for short times.
