Hey Speedline! That's an excellent point! So then......you guys are all wrong and my car is all correct......even with the power sun roof installed! Ya! :)

d2d2: Is your roller skate big enough for a jet engine? Man, you must have big feet!

Chevykid: Disc brakes are allowed as a modification as long as it is on your spare tire only.

:(
MrMack: A rotary engine in a Corvair, now there's a thought! How about installing d2d2's jet engine on the roof of the Corvair instead? It should work better don't ya think?
wink

Okay dudes, only two more pages to go and then we will have four pages and 1948chevyman will buy us all a beer. Hey, wait a minute....there's a thought! I wonder if I can install a beer tapper in my rumble seat with Elvira. Do ya think there would be enough room? Hum........!

HEy guys the Corvair is unsafe at any speed. I know because I read it in a book by some guy named Nader. What would he think of one with a jet engine on the roof? who knows it might fly.

Woody: Ya, but if we make enough modifications to the Corvair (two cement sacks in the front trunk and the jet engine included), then Nader might like it and then he can write a new book called "Almost Safe At Any Speed...Maybe". mad

Junkyard Dog-

You may need to extend the lid opening on your coupe as a "safety modification". laugh

Speedline: What would you suggest? Enough room for Elvira, a beer tapper, and me? Hum, I would have to extend the lid opening by about 3 feet.....and then I could drive the car from the rumble seat! Sounds good to me! laugh

JYD - the roller skate should be as small as
possible. You know - improve the handling by
reducing the unsprung weight.

d2d2: Okay, how small? It would still have to be large enough to handle the jet engine, the CD player, my lifesize Elvira blow up doll and a beer cooler. This might take two roller skates don't ya think??

mrmack.. bring the RX7 with you Saturday and we will delay the meeting to install it in the 64 corvair sitting in the carport.. Then if you will hold the J2 configuration in your lap we will test the ideas this group of really important people have suggested..

Tell you what guys I'll lengthen the hood on my 32 coupe and install six hit N miss engines. That would be six cylinders so it must be origial, right? Hahaha this is too funny. I don't really care how they get restored as long as the junkyard gods do not claim them. If you put a G.E. Turbine in it and drive it at least you are driving it and it has been salvaged. Major question though people. Ever wonder why so many Ford restorers put Chevy 350's under the hood. For the answer read the bottom of my post.

If I have dual side mounted spares, does that mean I have dual sided disc brakes???

I found an ash receiver in very good condition
for a 1931 Special Sedan. It was screwed to the
instrument panel of a 20 HP Rolls-Royce. Obviously
it was incorrect for the car and had to be removed immediately.

How many pistons does are in those dual spare calipers? If those are four piston calipers thats eight pistons and that would not do for a stovebolt. It would become a BUICK !

Hey guys thanks but no thanks, No jet engine on the top of the Corvair, who do you think I am Art Arfons? besides it would probably melt my run around lights on the license plate frame.

1948chevyman: Yep, we are going to make you eat your words, because page 3 is almost finished and then we move on to page 4! I love it!

MudbugnLousiana: That sounds good to me! I have been thinking about coverting my 1930 coupe to propane, but the problem is I have no where to put the tank. The vaporiser can go on the cowl under the hood, but the only place large enough to put the propane tank is in the rumble seat. But...I already have my beer tapper and my Elvira blow up doll in there. Hum, maybe I will have tow a small trailer behind, with 1930 Chevy wire wheels on it, to carry the propane tank. But, then again, I could always install a six-cylinder Cummins diesel in my car instead. Do ya think that anyone would notice? laugh

Chevykid: Yep, if you have dual sidemount tires, then you definitely will have dual disc brakes and they will do a great job of keeping your sidemount wheels from turning in the fender buckets. Hey, it works for me! :p

d2d2: Didn't ya know that if you put a Rolls Royce part on a Chevrolet that it totally devalues the Rolls Royce part......or is it the other way around....it devalues the Chevrolet?? Hum....I wonder?!

MrMack: You have run around lights on your license plate frame? Wow, that's a cool idea man! Do ya think that I could do the same on my '30 coupe's licence plate frame? That 8 foot long neon tube light that I have above the license plate frame now sure does get in the way when parking! Not only that I have to use a 20 mile long extension cord every time that I drive the car at night! :(

Oh JYD I forgot to tell you that I changed the 12vdc over to a 120-240 vac system, the Onan fits right up in front between the big old anvil and the York refridg. unit that I cool her off with, takes lots of BTU's to cool the old girl till I can get Oldchevyman to help me put the top back on!

I think we all have an answer to that question.

But what do they use for a rear end?

A F*%# 9 inch rear end. Rear end, is that a good place for a F*%# part????

JYD They will not notice the Cummins at all but what in the world is that terrible valve clatter. Hmmmmmmm....

Chev None of my vehicles ever see F$#% rearends give me a 12 bolt chevy or a Dana anyday. Besides, most of the quote F#$% 9 inches are not made by F$#% but instead by an aftermarket company which is better anyways. Onward page 4
