D2D2, we need the seat belts for those who may have some youngsters that require a car seat, it is pretty much the law, car seats that is. This is a pretty cool topic, and is sure to raise the heat on cold night. JYD as far as the tunes it is great idea about the CD player, but do they make them in 6 volt versions? If not the judges are missing a few other things than the CD player. I myself went for another invisable modification. I went for the FM conversion for my radio, it was the worst $300 I ever spent! But rather than buying a good AM/FM non stock radio for less money, and lost points I went for this, not happy. The things we will do to save on a point deduction. laugh

I don't think that they make CD players with a 6 volt conversion. The car that I am talking about was also converted to 12 volts as well. Oh, modern technology.....ain't it great???

center around instruments.

Speak of the devil, there was a nice Hades brand hot water heater in my '31 Special Sedan. JYD
convinced me I should fill up the holes.[remember
"Is your firewall like swiss cheese?" in G&D?]
Now that Hades heater is restored and on a shelf
with other automotive artifacts - where it can
more easily be seen.

d2d2: That's cool! I never had that problem since my 1930 coupe never had a hot water heater. But, now my cowl is going to look like swiss cheese when I get done with drilling all of the holes need to install a modern air conditioning system! And yes, then there will be the power antenna for my FM stereo system with the CD player, and after that..............? But I am still condfused as where I should put my lifesize blow up Elvira doll. Maybe the rumble seat would be nice......???

Since you guys know the ropes about restoreing a 28 to acceptable highway conditions, I was trying to hook up the Autroinic eye to my pickup and every time I meet a big old 18 wheeler my windshield washers come on, do you reckon I might have a wireing problem? I used the diagram in the original instruction for the Trico Autronic eye.

John: Nope, all of Elvira's equipment came standard from the factory, including the red hair, and there are no modifications! (Check out my profile) Also, no restoration was performed....what you see is ALL ORIGINAL! Wow!!

Raymondo: Sick? You are the dude that started all of this cool stuff in the first place, so I'll bet that you had no idea that there were other dudes out here in Chevyland as crazy as you, huh? Ha ha!

Hey 1948chevyman! The dare was to make it to four pages, not four and a half, but have no fear because we will make it....and maybe all of the way to five pages too. Ya! So...come on dudes, help me out here because page two is almost full! Does anyone out there want to tell me how they modified their vintage Chevy with a Ford engine so that no one would notice?? :)

MrMack: Hum, your wiper problem is very interesting, and it is very similar to the current problem that I am having with my 1930 Chevy. Every time that I turn on my CD player, the right rear tire goes flat! So, what's up with that??

Very funny - why don't we just go directly to page
5 and put a jet engine on a roller skate?

How pages do we need to have on the subject???

Oh well, does changing from front drum brakes to front disc brakes count as a modification? Did it for safety reasons and because the drums were prone to fade when hot.

Let's see two full pages  and two to go.

General rule of thumb regarding modifications:

The changes made to your own vehicle are legitimate safety upgrades, the changes the other guy makes to his vehicle are illegal modifications. laugh
