There is a 1918 D-5 V-8 listed in the October issue of hemmings. The ad claims that the car has original paint, upholstery and top. Ad also claims that the car has been in a collectors hands for 60 years. Asking price is $40,000.

I have always said that an early V-8 is my dream car, but an HPOCF V-8 car would be the best!

I tried to convince my wife that if we sold all of our cars, we might not need to take out a second mortgage out on the house to get the money. She thinks that she has more common sence than I do.....

Chris,
If common sense was a criteria then none of us would have any old cars. Come to think of it we would not have wives either. Good luck on your quest. Sure would be nice to see the V-8 at an upcoming VCCA meet or tour.

Yes it is narrow minded, but she has this idea that having hung out with me for well over 50 years she has some say in what we do!

Like the man said, "My wife told me if I buy one more car she's leaving me. Boy, I'm sure gonna miss her!"
I was amused to see in the new Hemmings that the ad for the Chev. V-8 showed a picture of a Model T Ford!

I thought that would create a storm of content here on this forum!

The picture of the V-8 was listed under the "pre-16" area. The description was for the Model T.
