Hey, I have a vehicle in my family that is a 1919 Chevrolet Baby Grand Sedan, under the dash is the placque that says FB Sedan Chevrolet Baby Grand. I have been all over and can only find information on a Baby Grand Touring and 490, can any one shed some light on this car? Any info is a big help. I want to keep her, but the wife needs more.

The FB models, which were larger cars than the 490, were commonly refered to as Baby Grands. This was carried on fron the earlier years when those cars were designated Baby Grands by Chevrolet. FB is the correct designation.

The FB Sedans for 1919 were the old style Hayes-Ionia built 2 door models that the door post was removeable, [like a Hard-Top] while the 1920 FB Sedan that was announced for August 1st, 1919 was a Hayes-Ionia 4-door model.

Do you still have this car? If so, I am in need of a pinion gear for a 1919 FB50. The pinion gear I need is an 8 tooth, 1.5 inches long, and 1 1/8 x 7/8 tappered hole with woodruf key. Any advice?

1919 FB50 - Broken Pinion gear! To all FB owners! I want to get with any one who might need a ring gear & pinion, I would like to have several ring gear & pinion sets made as they are less expensive when made in quantity. If you or you know of an FB owner please ask them to contact me at: thutch7244@sbcglobal.net
Thanks
thutch

May be you could search advice from Lawrence Jackson. ljackson805@hotmail.com

He arranged for a production of 25 sets of R&P high speed to 1931 last year. Excellent quality and super service too.

I have a late 21' and the tag on the passenger side actually says Baby Grand and not FB. I have had others tell me that it is an FB and not a "true" Baby Grand, but the tag, which is original says otherwise.

Actually the Baby Grand is the model name given to the Touring bodied cars. FB is the model designation on the car or serial number. A '21 Touring would officially be an FB 50 model. The Roadster is FB 20, Sedan FB 40, etc.

See the BABY-GRAND nameplate that was printed in the March 1988 G&D on page 14. It listed the Model as: FB SEDAN. So it appears the BABY-GRAND was used on both Touring and Sedan FB Cars,

The 1920 sales catalogue makes no mention of the name Baby Grand, and only uses the the titles..FB20 roadster, FB30coupe, FB 40 Sedan, FB50 Touring Car.
