Check your phone book for a local speedometer repair shop.There are a few left in large cities.I took mine to one here in the Milwaukee area and had good results.The 1948 speedo. isn't that much different than the last cable driven ones used on modern cars.

Thanks Chev Nut,I will try that.Although you always get a little nervous taking your vintage parts to modern repair shops...Theres alot of these old parts they will not even touch..chef-
