There is a Notch 1/4" wide about 1.25" from front end of housing, and it is about 1.75" long. What is this for. I ordered a new bushing and seal from filling station, does this go behind or in front of notch. Old bushing was just floating in housing, no seal.

Not sure if this is what you are talking about but this is how I removed the bushing on my truck. See this posting for a picture

Thank You Very Much. That is the information I was look in for. My shaft is also worn, but The Filling Station has new ones.
