Here we go again. I am working on a second engine for my 25 Superior K coupe and need to get the water pump pulley off...this engine will be my "spare" for the first. I started to pull the pulley on the spare and it broke...boohoo...;however, I do have a third engine with a good pulley and would like to get it off. Sooooo....what's the secret?? Thanks!!!

I used a two-legged puller. Make sure the hooked arms of the puller act on the centre of the pulley as close to the shaft as possible. Don't pull on the outside of the pulley where the fanbelt runs.
A good way is to tighten the puller and then leave it overnight. Tighten the puller again in the morning and cross your fingers.
Good luck.

The safest way to remove the pulley is with a 12 ton press. If the pulley hub is rusty, gently heat it with a torch first. Let cool and then use the press.

Great! It should work fine for you and a press is a lot easier on the pulley too. And, you can use the press to reinstall the pulley on the pump shaft as well.
