I am restoring a 1921 490, touring and am missing the rear wheels/rims.(wood spoke)
The front wheels are 21" which I believe is correct. Would appreciate confirmation of this.
Also confirm if the correct tire size is 440/450/21.
The car was made in Canada and I am located in Ontario, however have a business in oregon so could have wheels shipped there or if in the east directly.
I have found a parts car which has useable wheels but they are 24". Possibly it is a Superior or ?

Thought your car took model T size tires?(30x3 1/2)I have a 21 Baby Grand and have had a heck of a time finding the right tires. My rims appear to be 23" but bought a set of tires and they are sitting loose. Thought your rims were also 23", just a bit narrower. Let me know what you find out.rdz69@aol.com

21" rims were not introduced until late 1925. Your 490 should have 23" rims. I think the FA/FB series had 24" rims. My 1915 Amesbury Special has 25" rims, try finding some of these?

tom490 My wheels measure 22 1/4 outside lip to outside lip.
the rims measure 22 1/2 inside to inside

here now lies a problem when I put the rims on the wheels and put the rim clamps on and tighten them down, the rims still have movement.

do I have something wrong?? wrong wheels??? wrong rims??? wrong rim clamps???

I have 3 wheel sets of 1 type hayes clamps and 1 wheel set of a different hayes clamp can any one help me with this problem

MY 1920 490 has jaxon wheel clamps.

wheels are 23" diameter for 30 X 3 1/2 " tires, same size as model T tyres.

If you have the metal parts needed, there is a man in Norway making those wheel with detachable rims. Here are some photos:

His adress is: Sverre Hoelsaeter,Gullverket, 2080 Eidsvoll(not using email, sorry, but you can see some of the wheels here:
http://www.hoelseter.no/

That wheel in the pictures does not fit my 1916(and 1917)but from 1918 and on. I think you have to pay near to $ 1000 excl. freight.

You also could ask another company: Bruvik Vognfabrikk http://www.bruvikvogn.com/ info@bruvikvogn.no if they can make it.
