I received my 1928 restoration package from Chevrolet yesterday. It mostly deals with passenger cars, but there is a page or two about the "commercial chassis." Was the "commercial chassis" just a passenger car chassis without a body or does the term "commercial chassis" also include the Chevrolet TRUCK??? Thanks!

Thanks Chevrolet! My '28 is definately a TRUCK - she's a one ton. I can now safely conclude that the information I have on the "commercial chassis" applies to my truck...that's good news for me laugh .

Hi all. I called Chevrolet last week (or the week before???) and asked for any and all information they had that would be relevant to the restoration of my truck. They sent me a thick packet of information on the 1928 Chevrolet. It contains factory notes on the model year changes from the 1927 model year to the 1928 model year and very detailed specification sheets on just about everything imaginable for the 1928 cars (looks like photo copies of original hand-written engineer's spec sheets). The specifications are for:
national touring, national roadster, national sedan, national coach, national coupe, national cbl, national imp, national sed. chassis, national tour. chassis, national commercial chassis, and the capitol ut. exp. truck...It also has some photocopies of advertisements and some of the "service news"...There's some great stuff in there. I would suggest you call and get one. The girl I talked to was super nice and IT WAS FREE laugh laugh laugh

Ozmax - If they won't send you one to Australia I'll get you copies of mine and send them direct (if you'll pick up the cost of the copies and shipping of course). Let me know.

You just didn't talk to the right person...Chevrolet has records. They probably have more records than what I received. Call them back. I wish I had written the name down of the lady I talked to. She was very helpful. Call them again (and again if necessary) until you get an operator that cares about helping you.

Hi all. I'm going to try to get some time with a scanner over at the University and get these records scanned into digital format. When I get that done I'll try to figure out a way to post them up here so folks can use them...Any ideas on how to do that???? idea

Hi all. I haven't fallen off the face of the Earth. I'm up to my neck in final exams right now, so it'll probably be late April or early May before I get the scans done. It's going to be several pages of stuff...Anyone have ideas about where and how to post it here? I've communciated with Keith and he is going to post them on his site (which is an awesome site by the way).
