Ok I was out to back to the 50's today here in minnesota and a guy comes up to me and says to you know what the width of your rear fenders are. I had a tape and he measured the because he had repros and there was an inch and a half difference. Guess what my are fiberglass came with the car that way and same thing a inch and a half difference. Is that how there supposed to be or are the repros bad. Also I am looking for a good steel pair of rear fenders. I can use the fiberglass ones for the trailer I'm going to build. Any one know where is a good place to get them from.

Hey JYD,
I'm also very interested in re-pro rear fenders for my Sport Coupe. I'm tired of banging on my originals, besides the right one has a broken bead. You say 10 1/4" at the running board. How about the very back end. My left one seems to have been "squeezed together" so it resembles a motorcycle fender, and I can't seem to get that "mud flap" look back in it. My question is; Do the fiberglass re-pro's have the correct look and dimensions, or should I wait and save up for the steel fenders? ($150 vs. $395)... :confused:

If you want a quality job, then get steel fenders. The fiberglass fenders have been known to vary dimensionally. :eek: :eek: :( :( :(

Just a word of caution. If you replace a fender be sure it matches the original or replace both fenders with new ones. I had a problem trying to replace one and as a result reworked my original and returned the new one.

Jim, what was the problem with the new fender?
If you have old Chevrolets, other old Chevrolets will find out where you live.

The bead did not match the bead on my three original fenders.Later I was told by the person that makes the fenders that they sent me the wrong fender. It just pays to check everything you buy.
