We are finishing up a 1926 four door Superior Landau sedan and remain interested in getting the visor over the windshield correct (as original). I have seen pictures of 25,26 and 27 closed cars with the visor over the windshield "covered" with the same fabric material as on the roof. In those instances the visor appears to be one continuous piece of sheet metal "folded" over at the ends and mounted to the pillar/frame on each side of the windshield. I have also seen the visor on some other 25,26 and 27 closed cars as a rectangular sheet metal strip (about four or five inches wide) merely painted black (left uncovered and without roof material) and fixed to the pillar/frame on each side of the front windshield with a narrow bracket curved like an "eased" 90 degree angle (bolted down from the visor and screwed into the pillar). Any thoughts, advice or comments on what might be correct?

My 25/26 (built 10/13/25) has the visor over the windshield "covered" with the same fabric material as on the roof. The visor is one continuous piece of sheet metal "folded" over at the ends and mounted to the pillar/frame on each side of the windshield. The underside of the visor is covered as well. I believe 27 was something completely different.

I would also like details of the visor. I have the brackets and adjustable stays however I don't have a picture of the complete visor.

No visor on a tourer. Do you have a closed or open car?

I have a tourer, (open car). Maybe the hardware was supplied as an after market accessory?
I can send a photograph of the bits and pieces.

What about the 28 Sedan? Is the visor covered or just painted?

In the land down under there were aftermarket companies that made visors for all the open cars, roadsters and tourers (tourings for the yanks). "I love a sunburnt country a land of sweeping plains" is part of a famous Australian poem so you can see there was a great need for visors in Australia. They are even accepted in Concourse judging. The visors were a nickel plated frame that clamped to the windshield posts on either side and used a 1/4" thick piece of coloured glass mostly green some blue or an orange/brown shade as the visor part.
Rarely seen on 1929 and later due to the small window height made it hard to view when driving.
You could order you Chev from the dealer with a visor fitted so in Australia open cars could come with visors. Just as they could come with bumper bars, kick plates, tire chains, disc wheels or wood spoke wheels it was just another option from the Chevrolet dealer.
