Wondered if someone could post a picture or advise of correct headlight lens for 23 - 24 Chevy. I checked one parts book and it listed two for the Superiors. One is 361228 (smith) and the other is 343086 (plain) 7 7/8. Wondered if there is any printing or script that would identify the correct one. I've seen plain clear lens and different patterns as well. Thanks.

All cars that I have seen have the plain flat glass lens.

The Smith lens has a texture on it which is intended to "aim" the light better. I'm not sure, but the clips inside of the headlight rim may be different when using the Smith lens due to the lens itself being thicker. Maybe someone on this site will know.

Does the '25 use a textured lens?

No, 1925 through 1928 is just plain glass.

If the reflector has flutes(?)then the glass is plain. If it does not, then it will have a lens that has a pattern.

My 23 original had plain reflectors and plain flat glass. It was bought Nov 16 1922.
