Is this a Rumble seat Roadster?
[Linked Image from carnut.com]
What are the production figures on these compared to the standard roadster with a trunk?

the answer to the top picture is no . as to the production numbers it is one as this car is a 23- 24- 25 -26 - 27- 28 automobile it was put together for a tour in two days and has ben driven on several tours in the us. the bottom car looks like a late 26 roadster no rumble seat only trunk it was the first roadster pickup as a box was available . take the two screws out of the trunk take the lid off slide the box in . there are two pads on the top to fasten the box in . they came in green and black fenders hope this helps

Hi,

The first picture is an early 1925 Roadster. It appears to have several errors in the restoration. Back curtain, stripe, color, key mounted in trunk lid, wheels, are just a few that are obvious. It is NOT a rumble seat car. None were made in 1925.

The second car is a 1926 roadster. It is NOT a rumble seat car. It also has errors, but is more accurate than the 1925.

Rumble seat was not available until 1927.

Now that I have said all that, I must hedge my bet with a statement. My comments apply to US models and some of the items may be unique to export models.

ray the trunk key is left in the trunk so that the owner does not have to find it every time he raises the trunk . i made it out of the end of a wood bit the taper fits and it works was pressed for time and the owner needed to get in the trunk to store his shinner bock

mack i have the inside and out side scoop . i havent seen the car in a while but it looks like the owner has cleaned it up. right after it was put together all i could see was dust as it was flying down the country roads of kansas . in kansas if you get a mile out side of a town the roads turn to dirt they dont even put rock on it you overhaul the chevy put it out on the road go four miles the roads are laid out in one mile sections so you are back where you started from the rings are seated in and you are ready to go no break in time needed. that is why those kansas cars run so well

When I lived in Texas it was "Southern Select". Went on a tour of the brewery in Galveston years ago and got thirsty during the tour. Walked up to what I thought was a water fountain and discovered it was "beer".

well while we are on the beer story . shiner is a small town in southern texas mostly german . we were having a tour in kilgore texas and chip and i were delegated to get the refreshments for the social or banquet one or the other any way we were in sams club trying to deside what to get and he said we did not very much money so i said in that case we should get three or four cases of that shiner bock which is a dark beer it is cheap and most of the beer drinkers are from kansas and north and dont know what it is and wont drink it so we got it and some coors and bud well at the party i broke the shiner out first so that i could get out of serving early well neadless to say those kansas farm boys and girls drank all the shiner and left the coors and bud after that we brought shiner to kansas to trade for car parts worked until they started selling it in kansas. the intake for the shiner brewery is right down stream of the treatment plant they say properly treated water is better than rocky mountain high i dont know i dont drink the stuff.

He! He! I thought it was different, what usually comes out of a horse looks like Budweiser Select, I haven't got the urge to drink either , from A.B. or the horse....I have had a Shiner Bock it is about the same as LSD (Lone Star Draft) Phuew-EE! but with a darker color.Either one probably will be a good subsitute for brake fluid (on 1935 back)or paint remover for your Chevrolet restoration project

This topic degraded quickly wink laugh Beer is Good!

Does anyone know if someone makes repo 1/4 panels? I've being searching to no avail, I have the '26 panels for above and below the boot (trunk) and the other panels I have a few leads on but the roadster 1/4s are giving me the most grief. :(

I am not aware of anyone reproducing very much sheet metal for the early cars. Perhaps your best bet is to watch eBay as some unusual items appear there regularly.

Also watch the ads in the G & D.
