I wonder if anyone here might be able to help me with some detailed photos of the RHS of their 1927 Chev motor?

My recently purchased '27 (an older restoration) came without an oil filter. There appears to be a bracket where a filter was mounted, but the oil lines (in/out) are merely joined together. I would like to see what the original setup looks like.

Also, the I am a bit suspicious about the way the previous owner has set up the hand throttle and spark advance linkages and return spring mounting for hand throttle (it's attached to the horn!).

Would anyone be willing to provide some digital photos of their restoration, focussing on the detail of this area of the motor please? Is it possible to email them to me directly, so I can print them out in whatever size I like? (Hope this doesn't break any protocols of this group - remember I'm new around here!!) Thanks!

Hi Kipper,

I've sent you my email address privately. If your '28 has manual spark advance, then I think it may be what I need. If not, then maybe things are different down there - however I'm still keen to have a look at what you've got! Cheers.

Hi Martin,
I'm new here, but I might be able to help you. I "found" an engine that is supposed to be from 1927, a truck engine, but it shouldn't make much difference. I have some pictures of it on a website and I can take more I you need to.
Drop me an email and I can sent the website to you, that is, is you are still looking

Richard

I suggest caution here. RHD set up is different from the US and Canadian LHD. Also trucks have a steering column and advance rod setup more like '25 than the '27-'28 passenger cars. So I recommend that only RHD passenger photos are used.

The oil filter set up is the same, so no problems using a car or truck photo.

Cool, way to go Norway, maybe in two years mine will look like that. I'll do the picture test too, just so you can see that I need some work done there [Linked Image from ca.geocities.com]

Hi Chevtruck1926,

Your picture is of a 1928 engine. If you decide to rebuild that engine I suggest you paint it the proper color and use the correct decals for the oil filter and air cleaner.

When you are ready for those steps, put your question here and we will help.

Hi Ray,
I know it's my '28, but he showed a '28 that's why, my '27 engine looks and is worse, but has a few more parts (on it) I was told to redo the '28 first as it would be the better engine of the two, I'm still hunting for a '26 that has been seen around here, but the owner is hard to track down. He might be "snow birding" in Arizona like much of my neighbours without livestock do.
I don't care too much for show quality that would be a lot of trouble to use it and keep it in perfect shape. It is a truck and it will be used as a truck, very carefully of course.

Have a great weekend
Richard
