Does anyone have a contact that does a complete overhaul of a chevy four (not just a short block) to include head, valves, rings, poistons cylinders, lifters, distributer, oil pump, crank, timing gear/chain, reassembeled ready to drop in? Thanks, Maxie.

Maxie You might try Tom Stewart D/B/A as Flathkead Sales and Service. I know, I know, wrong make, but I have talked with this guy several times, actually had dinner with him several years ago, and He said that He could rebuild the motor in my 1919 Chev. He is in Churchville NY, (near Rochester), which is a long way from Wichita, but it might be worth a call. 585-292-3203. Tell him that a guy in the Model T snowmobile club recommended him.

Another reference is Badger Engine in Madison, Wisconsin. They just completed a full overhaul of my '27 4 cyl and did a great job. They had to send it out for babbiting, but managed everything else. .040 oversize on the cylinders led to new pistons, from Egge I believe. I am quite pleased with the craftsmanship. Brian is the owner. This was the second engine of this vintage they did in the past year. Bill

Check with Paul's Rod & Bearing, 6212 Northwest Bell Road, Parkville, MO 64152 (816) 587-4747. They are a machine shop that does first class babbitt work. In the Kansas City area they are close by and if they don't assemble the engine likely would know someone that does.
How Sweet the roar of a Chevy four!
