My 1928 Coach radiator exhibits some corrosion staining starting about 3 or 4 inches from the bottom of the core. Can it possibly be repaired or is a new core the only option? Also, the aluminum shell is corroded at the bottom such that there is a couple spots eaten away along the exposed edge where it meets the raditor tank. Is this repairable? What material is the radiator tanks/core made of?
Nothing is ever simple.

I would recommend you locate a shop that is handy with aluminum repair and have them "patch" the shell and then polish it. As for the radiator, hard pill to swallow, but you are in the market for a new core from the Filling Station. Save your top and bottom tanks and have them straightened or repaired as necessary for installation on the new core.
