Jim from down under has put me to work again. Jim has proposed that we start a string and see how many body styles were available all over the world in 1928. We will not list or discuss the common types such as the roadster, touring, closed cars ect. This will be limited to the unusual ones.

To start it off Jim sent a picture of a Boat-tail speedster.

I will add as my contribution the Convertible Sports Cabriolet that was introduced in mid 1928.

Your contribution is welcome. The only catch is that you must provide and post the picture. (If you sent it to me by email I might be persuaded to post it for you)

Ray, that looks like Jerry and Sue G. when their car was new! (before they put the airplane radiator cap on it.)

I hope one of you 1928 experts took the time to respond to the fellow from Spain that wrote the article in the latest G&D, page 36. I enjoyed his story, and was very curious about his "Model A style" gas tank set up. I assume this is some European built version Bowtie, but I have no knowledge to answer him. Would be interested to hear the answers, though!

Yes he had a few curious mods, did it have a 4 or 6 engine? I also liked his wheels and tires.

I wondered about those Guru's also.....

Hi huffneff,

Thanks for the offer, however for this string we have decided to eliminate the more "common" body styles such as your coupe.

I can think of at least two more candidates that are not posted. Get your thinking caps on.

Hi guys the boat tail speedster body was built in Tasmania (Australia) ,Very little is known about it or the body builder an ex neighbour of a fellow chev nut .In the book 60 years of chevrolet on page 73 their is another unusual body a sedan built by Hibbard and Darrin in Detroit? does anyone know of any others? There is also bodies for the sedan delivery and the roadster utility as discussed in another thread ,not forgetting the depot-hack or station wagon.

Here is another entry in our unusual body styles for 1928. This is a Roadster Express. This picture was provided by two sources: Don Cartwright and Jim Hatton. (Thanks to both of you for your participation in this project).
