previous owner replaced the stewart vacuum tank with an electric fuel pump (6 VDC). I would like to reinstall the vacuum tank, but I suspect that it was replaced becouse it did not function. Is there a repair kit available? The only information I have is in the Chevrolet repair manual, dated February 1 st, 1928.I have also noticed that The Filling Station has a cast top p/n GR 415 but looking at the catalog it seams that it is only the manifold not a repair kit. Any information would be appreciated

Hi jwp,

You are making a wise decision to return to the original vacuum tank. A good working vacuum tank is relatively trouble free.

I am not aware of a repair kit but the cork gasket and float have been reproduced.

Do you have the source(s) for the float and gasket?

I understand that Stanley's Parts makes the floats and Gary Wallace has the gaskets made. You should be able to get both parts from either one. Look at the Vendors & Suppliers - Parts forum for more specifics on Stanley's.
