Every so often there is someone selling modern tie rod ends on Ebay that are supposed to fit a 1928. Does anyone know if these are any good?

I have never tried to use any. Like you write they are modern and do not look or work like the originals. To use you will need to remove the balls and stud from the arm. It is a 1/2" straight sided stud. If the replacements are tapered then some machine work will be needed.

Thanks for your thoughts. I would imagine most are tapered these days so they stay put but I can't tell from the pictures what the Ebay ones are like.

Oh well, better to renovate the originals I suppose.
