Hello, My name is Glenn Edwards and I recently obtained a 1932 1 1/2 ton Cevy truck. It is in origional condition and really doesn't need that much done to it. The paint is very old, but there is not that much rust on the truck. The wood is sound, as well as the engine. I do need a new wiring harness for it. I have not been able to find a vendor that sells the wiring harness for the 32 truck. I beleieve the truck was origionally Bonnie Bell Blue in color, because the firewall is that color. Were fenders of the blue truck always black or were there other combinations? Does anyone know the modern paint conversion? The gas guage is missing. Does anyone know where I can find a replacement? Are there interior kits available. It needs the seats recovered and just about the total interior. The springs and wood I believe are OK. This is my first Vintage Chevy. I have a 26 Ford T, so these modern trucks are a bit different for me. :) I would very much appreciate any information about this truck. thanks, Glenn

Hey Glenn! I can help you on this! 1. On the wiring, call the Filling Station Steve has some 1 1/2 ton trucks himself and should know where to get them. You can also try, Y and Z 2. Fenders were always black in 32. 3. I think I can help you on the gauge. Do you have an early or late truck? That makes a difference on the gauge. 4. I have the modern codes that I can e-mail you for the 32 Chev's. Need to do that tonight when I'm home. 5. On the interior, these guys can help you out! hamptoncoach Just so you know there were no panels in the 32 trucks. I think just the seats were covered.

Also, the color was "Blue Bell Blue", not Bonnie Bell Blue. :cool2:

Good answer for a car guy and mutt. The door panels are a patterned cardboard with black metal escushion around the inside door latch. Not aware of early and late gas tank float unit for '32. Thought that was '31 or '30 for single and double float units.

Hey Glenn; Welcome to the world of Old Chevys and sign up with the VCCA! I have a 32, and the wiring harness from Y&Z is one of the easiest things I did on my car. Try them out. Also go to fillingstation.com and hamptoncoach.com Good luck!

Hey Chip,
I thought Glenn was talking about the gauge on the dash. From what I've been told by Steve, there was an early and late truck. A late truck had a cowl vent and convex glass in the gauges. Early had no vent and flat glass. Please let me know if I’m wrong Chip.

Bruce, I will go along with the early truck without a cowl vent but mine had convex glass on the gages. It also had the early box with the three rib rub strips. Chevy literature shows '32 trucks with cowl vent. Never seen reference to any without a vent, though I have seen a few in person.
