Was it standard practice to mount the tail light on top of the license plate on a 1920 490 Touring. The car has the 3/4 circle spare tire carrier and when the light and bracket is mounted this way the carrier release doesn't open enough to release the spare. Is this just the way it is? Or were there other mounting practices. I did note in a 1916 MA drivers rule book that it was a law to have the rear plate illuminated. Thanks.

I trust you have found the place for the tail light long ago. Here is a possible picture to look at. :) http://oldcarandtruckpictures.com/Chevrolet/(Chevy 1920, red)
